WISH LIST: IPAD CASES
Last night I made the jump and bought an iPad. I have been thinking about purchasing one for awhile, I figured it would make my job easier. The funny thing is I don’t know if I am more excited about the iPad itself or that I need to pick out the perfect case. I am seriously geeking out on cases. I can’t decide if I want a shell or an actual case that can hold business cards and extra...

IN THE KITCHEN: FRESH BAKED TORTILLA CHIPS
Last night I had a major craving for chips and guacamole. Lucky for me I had everything except the tortilla chips. Thankfully I had two whole-wheat tortillas, so I decided to make my own tortilla chips. They are super easy to make and a lot healthier than store bought tortilla chips. I also improvised with my main dish; since I was sacrificing my tortillas I couldn’t make my shrimp...

CHOCOLATE STASH
Now we’re talking, combining two of my favorite things mustaches and chocolate. I laughed when I saw these packages for chocolate by ruiz+company. {image credit}

FOOD FOR THOUGHT
These editorials are so crazy, they kind of remind me of the Italian painter Giuseppe Arcimboldo. The first image is from a series called “Salad Times” by photographer Richard Burbridge. He also did another series called “Diamond in the Roughage.” If only I could wear food as clothing, I don’t think I would ever be hungry. {image credits}

SWEET DREAMS
I have been on the search for the perfect bedding for some time now. I am still deciding on what I actually want my room to look like. Right now my bed it’s a mix of rustic and modern and I feel that is best route. I also have an amazing chair that was my Nana’s that will definitely be an accent piece once my room is in order. For now I will search for the perfect bedding and...

BROTHERLY LOVE
I came across these great illustrations, and after reading the concept behind these drawings I loved them even more. These pieces are a collaboration between two brothers Tom & James. James creates these very intricate images and finds great inspiration in his brother Tom who was born with downs syndrome. I think this statement from their blog wraps it up best, “Their...

IN THE KITCHEN: VEGAN BLUEBERRY MUFFINS WITH CREAM...
Over the weekend my good friends put together a nice get together brunch. I am a big fan of brunch, so I decided to make one of my favorite brunch items, blueberry muffins. They were a hit; I think I ate about 5, which is rare because I rarely eat what I bake. I especially love that I added cream cheese frosting; it’s was a nice touch.  {photos by me}

IN THE KITCHEN: COCOA-DUSTED GLAZED ALMONDS
The other night I had a craving for something chocolaty, and surprisingly had none in the house. So I took to the web and found this really easy recipe on Vegetarian Times’ website. It has everything I needed to satisfy my chocolate sweet tooth.  {photos by me}

FOODIE WEDNESDAY: HOTCAKES BAKES
First off today is my lovely, amazing, beautiful mom’s birthday.  I rarely buy cakes for any occasion especially birthdays, but time got the best of me this year. So I ordered a cake from one of my favorite bakeries, Hotcakes Bakes. They have amazing cupcakes (my favorite is the chocolate cupcake with raspberry mousse). I ordered the lemon cake, with lemon curd and lemon buttercream...

IN THE STUDIO: HEATHER & DON'S RUSTIC WEDDING
I am happy to share my first wedding invite design. It was such a fun project and hope to keep the ball rolling with more designs in the future. Heather & Don’s wedding theme was rustic and romantic. My main goal was to incorporate the venue and both their lovely personalities. I couldn’t be happier with the final piece. I thank Heather & Don for giving me the...

A LOVE FOR COLOR & PATTERN
Sonia Rykiel is seriously the best. I am in love with her Spring collection, lots of prints, colors and shapes. I even love the added touch of a tapped backdrop.  {image credit}

CHALKBOARD TYPOGRAPHY
I really do love hand written typography. These beautiful pieces done by Dana Tanamachi are perfection. I am also a bit jealous that these are all done on a chalkboard. I cannot write on a chalkboard, I blame it on being left-handed. {image credit}

HAPPY FRIDAY
It has been a rainy and cold week, so like clockwork I instantly crave a big bowl of Pho! This week was great because I finally finished my business cards. Since I had a free moment I got to work and finished something pretty great. I cannot wait to see them in a few weeks. I also got a surge of creativity so I am going to start designing some personal projects in the next few days. I am also...

STYLE PERFECT: HANDBAGS
I have been on the search for a new handbag, I have been carrying my trusty old Marc Jacobs bag for years and I feel its time to switch it up. My dilemma is, do I want a crossbody, hobo, satchel or a shoulder bag. What is a girl to do? {1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5}

IN THE KITCHEN: TORTELLINI & ESCAROLE SOUP
Last night I had a craving for a light and easy soup, so I looked online and found this Tortellini and Escarole Soup from Vegetarian Times. This soup hands down is the fastest and easiest soup I have made. My only issue is they never call out adding salt or pepper, so I ended up adding the salt and pepper because it would taste really bland. So make sure you season after every step. I also...

GIDDY UP LITTLE DARLIN'
Over the weekend I did something I have been wanting to do for awhile…horseback riding in LA! It was a lot of fun galloping through Griffith Park. I was a little nervous at first, but after ridding for about 15 minutes the nerves wore off and I could enjoy the ride. I was hoping to take a few pictures during the ride, but I was so focused on not falling off my horse. Thankfully my...

CANDY COLORED HAIR
These images make me want to dye my hair pink. It also reminds me of the time when I dyed my hair pink in high school and my mother freaked out. Oh the good old days. {image credit}

LIVING IN FULL COLOR
I originally saw these amazing images from my friend Amir’s Beautiful Decay site, and was instantly attracted to these beautifully colored buildings. These images are photographed by Matthias Heiderich and include two of my loves, architecture and stripes. These photographs make me so happy.  {image credit}

A SMART CALLING CARD
Now that I have a free moment, I am taking full advantage. I am not only in the process of shooting my wedding invite designs; I am also redesigning my personal calling card. I started looking online for some great inspiration and came across this great concept by Mike Rigby and designer from Australia. He designed this identity for a “re-toucher extraordinaire.” Another example of...

FOODIE TUESDAY: L & E OYSTER BAR
I was really excited to try this new spot, for whatever reason I have been craving oysters. So as my celebratory dinner for completing my fourth marathon my friends and I tried out L & E Oyster Bar. The spot is really cozy with a great selection of seafood, meats and of course oysters. I have no clue on how to properly order oysters, so thankfully they have a daily dozen and the chef picks a...

METRO
This was the first weekend in awhile that I had a free moment to go out and play. Saturday was the last day of Pacific Standard Time at LACMA so I ventured over for some culture. I instantly became obsessed with the installation called Metropolis II. Maybe it was because it made me feel like a kid again, watching all the toy cars and trains whirl by, or the simple fact that it reminds me of...
