I am happy to finally share my most recent wedding invite design. This project was special because I had the opportunity to design their menu, escort cards and wedding ceremony program (I hope to share those images soon). Johanna wanted to have a rustic vintage feel to her invites. Initially I wanted to print them on chipboard, but the cost was a little out of their budget. So I worked with my amazing printer Jorge from Color on Demand and he suggested creating a chipboard texture and then print on a textured paper. I have always wanted to use lace in a design so I was excited to incorporate that into the finished piece. For a personal touch I drew their silhouettes that appear on all of their wedding pieces. I am really happy with the final package, they are beautiful.

IN THE STUDIO: BEN’S BUSINESS CARD

I love when I can design something with complete freedom. Thankfully my friend Ben trusts my design, and I am also thankful that his name has the same amount of letters.  Every time I see these cards I laugh, straight to the point!

IN THE STUDIO: AILEEN & DARREN’S ITALIAN WEDDING

I was honored to design this wedding invite, because she is responsible for making my hair look amazing, my fantastic hairdresser Aileen from Salon Barberet.

Their wedding was an Italian theme, so I wanted to make the design very classic and elegant. They were also engaged in Italy, so I also wanted that represented. For the final touch I pulled love phrases and translated them in Italian for the bellyband.

For the printing I wanted to keep it classic so I went straight to the letterpress. I love using the letterpress so when I can I jump at the chance. I worked with Traction Press, they have a great eye for this traditional printing technique.

I am happy to share my brand new business cards. I really love them, they came out exactly how I envisioned. They were printed by, Color on Demand Printing, in Los Angeles. I use them for pretty much everything I design.

Thanks Jorge!!

IN THE STUDIO: HEATHER & DON’S RUSTIC WEDDING

I am happy to share my first wedding invite design. It was such a fun project and hope to keep the ball rolling with more designs in the future. Heather & Don’s wedding theme was rustic and romantic. My main goal was to incorporate the venue and both their lovely personalities. I couldn’t be happier with the final piece. I thank Heather & Don for giving me the opportunity to design something amazing for their special day.

If you or someone you know is getting married, I would love to work with you. If interested send me an email, I would love to hear from you, hello@visuallylovely.com.
